Black Equipment
is About You
We empower your warehousing, 3PL, distribution center, manufacturing, or construction company to consistently deliver value to your customers by providing reliable forklift, material handling, and construction equipment & services. Our business is built around understanding yours.
Peace Of Mind to Help You Thrive
We’re not factory-owned. Rather, we’re part of a network of entrepreneurial dealers that work
independently and in unison “AsOne” to care for our customers and ensure they always win.
Our customer relationships are built on consistent, predictable, and rapid attention to your needs. Our culture strives to build trust by minimizing hassles, addressing your priorities, and being fair in daily business.
Business relationships aren’t built on empty claims. They’re built on respect for the gravity of
customer challenges, understanding those challenges, and reacting fast & flexibly.
Any company can deliver peace of mind in good times. We want our customers to trust that we
have their backs in the best and worst of times.
Like any business, we have standard operating procedures that continually evolve to meet changing customer needs. However, when a customer finds themselves in an unforeseen critical
situation, we adapt what we’re doing from the President on down to rush that customer back on
track . . . which may require pulling people, resources, and equipment from multiple locations. We don’t go get permission. We act.
From Large to Lean: Hamilton Beach's Smaller, Smarter, Round-the-Clock Facility
In this video, Clay Phillips, Sales Manager for the Black Equipment Southern Region in Memphis, TN, explains how Black Equipment partnered with Yale Lift Truck Technologies to create a more efficient material handling system for Hamilton Beach's new, 28% smaller facility.
Together, they designed, organized, and installed shelving and racking tailored to maximize advantages of a highly efficient fleet of rechargeable lithium-ion Yale electric lift trucks.
Black Equipment provided local support to ensure a smooth transition from the old facility to the new one.
To maintain operations during the move, a substantial transition fleet of lift trucks was deployed to run both locations while training staff and beginning operations at the new site.
Clay details the benefits achieved: reduced damage, significant energy savings, and increased productivity for an operation now running 24/7.

"I've been in supply chain for 30 years and at previous companies, we've had difficulty getting certain equipment serviced. The fact that we have Black Equipment and Yale as a turnkey provider is huge, with 24-hour on-call service and local parts availability. And to top it off we now have the most advanced lift truck technologies, for a world class operation." - Mike Bunge, Vice President, global Supply Chain and Operations for Hamilton Beach.
Hyster, Greenfield Products (custom attachments), and Black Equipment worked together to enable NUCOR Steel Arkansas to load steel coils into railcars up to 10 times faster per day than could be achieved with the stradle crane. This specialized reach truck enabled operators to load the railcars without the need to be positioned beneath the load as was the case with the crane.
"We make sure we have all the recommended spare parts on the shelf. . . and can get to it quickly. Our priority is to make sure our customers have zero downtime" - Scott Bonnell, President Black Equipment Co.
The Hyster reach truck and new custom coil attachment gave NUCOR more flexibility, and improved safety and efficiency.
Black Equipment continues to provide regular service and needed repairs for this valuable and complex equipment.
Continental Tires the Americas - Mt. Vernon, IL
Continental Tire the Americas in Mt. Vernon, IL produces over 11 million passenger and light truck tires and over 3 million commercial tires.
Continental Tire worked with Yale and Black Equipment to implement the Yale Vision telemetry system on their fleet of over 250 lift trucks.
Nathan Baugher said:
". . . another great benefit of the Yale Vision system is the automated fault code monitoring that comes with every system. And what that does is it allows Black Equipment to see issues with the truck that we may not even know is available yet and they can service it all, and it's really sped up our uptime."
Baugher said they pull up t-time, motion time and also idle time on every vehicle to evaluate if the truck is truly needed in their facility.
Continental Tires no longer relies on paper OSHA checlists for pre-operation inspections because Yale Vision automates that and has eliminated over 250,000 pieces of paper.
